This years BOAT (Bicton Overseas Agricultural Trust) management trainees paid a visit to Vapormatic's worldwide parts distribution centre and headquarters in Exeter, Devon last week to take a look at how a multinational business operates. Peter Brennan (Managing Director) and Richard Sivil (Marketing Manager) were on hand to provide a tour of the facility and answer the enthusiastic and numerous questions the from trainees.
The trainees have been studying at the local Bicton College thanks to the money donated by tractor enthusiasts around the UK and Ireland, who last year helped raise over £17,000 through a tractor raffle. Parts were supplied by Vapormatic to rebuild the tractor, a Ford Super Dexta, in a 24 hour rebuild event. The course was once again managed by Mike Pash.

About BOAT
The Bicton Overseas Agricultural Trust (BOAT) was established in the early 1990's by a small group of Devon farmers whose aim was to provide opportunities for individuals or small groups in developing countries to be trained in a wide range of agricultural and food related topics. In 2006 BOAT developed and offered a new course in Institutional Management aimed at training the senior staff of land based institutions in management skills to enable them to run their own institutions more effectively.
BOAT receives no public funding and relies entirely on donations. If you are interested in donating to the charity or in buying raffle tickets for this year's tractor a Massey Ferguson 35, please email BOAT Chairman Mr Bill Vellacott.
