Vapormatic Vehicle Immobiliser (VLC5501) Achieves Thatcham Approval and Wins Industry Award

imm_productAfter a rigorous 12 weeks of testing and evaluation Vapormatic's Vehicle Immobiliser (VLC5501) has now received Thatcham category P2 approval.

Thatcham approval is the 'mark of quality' in the vehicle security market and is recognised by insurers who motivate policy holders to fit high quality and effective security products to their tractors and plant. The Thatcham testing process incorporated an 'attack test' whereby vehicle security experts have 15 minutes to start a tractor fitted with an immobiliser. After successfully completing the attack test, the immobiliser was sent to Thatcham's testing laboratory where every component was evaluated and thoroughly tested, such as, the keypad which was subjected to a robot arm entering over 50,000 PIN codes.

The Immobiliser's Thatcham reference is TEP1-19/1109 and the approval means that immobiliser has been certified to comply with the British Insurance Industry's Criteria for Plant and Agriculture Issue 1 and is classified as Category P2.

The Thatcham approval means that tractors and plant fitted with the Vapormatic immobiliser could be eligible for a discount on insurance premiums which, in some cases could be as much as the cost of the product itself. Tractor owners should check with their insurer and their insurance policy.
