Trekkers call in

The Tractor Trekkers paid a special visit to Vapormatic today as they make their way up the country on their mammoth Lands End to John O'Groats tractor run

Good Progress

Lee Gilbert and Lee Sidwells paid Vapormatic a special visit today as they stopped off on their mammoth Lands End to John O'Groats tractor run, raising money for Cancer Research UK. The Trekkers, on just the second day of their two week journey, were given a warm welcome by Richard Sivil, Marketing Manager, along with a group of well wishers who came along to show their support.

After a brief pause for the local media, the Lees were then given a personal tour of Vapormatics worldwide headquarters and parts distribution centre. Vapormatic staff generously donated over £125 to their cause as they were shown around the offices and warehouse. The company had earlier donated over £800 worth of parts to help in the preparation of the tractors for the journey.

Having left Vapormatic they will now travel north to Cannington and onwards up the country, aiming to arrive at John O'Groats on Sunday 29th June.

Tractor Trekkers Challenge

The challenge - to drive from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Burton on Trent Hospital.

The tractors - a 1948 Allis Chalmers Model U and a 1961 Fordson Super Major, both of which have no cabs, no heating and no protection from the rain - which given the recent weather could prove quite a challenge!

The journey - 2 weeks, almost 900 miles (avoiding motorways), 15 stops (see route).

Starting on the 17th June, this is no sprint to the finish. Instead, the Lees will be stopping along the route, raising money and meeting supporters. The journey is expected to take two weeks and will include a stop off at the Vapormatic worldwide distribution centre and headquarters in Exeter, Devon, where they will be greeted by Richard Sivil, Marketing Manager.

Vapormatic has provided parts for the preparation of the tractors as will offer support via the UK Stockist network should they encounter problems along the way.

The team here at Vapormatic wishes the Tractor Trekkers the best of luck and will be keeping a close eye on their progress. We will post updates here at www.vapormatic.com as we get them.

If you have any comments/messages of support for the Trekkers then contact us and we will post your messages on the site.
