Lawn and Garden Belts – Why Buy Kevlar?
Do you frequently have to replace the belt on your garden tractor, tiller or ride-on lawnmower? Well you may want to think about buying a Kevlar® constructed belt to help you save time and money.

Kevlar® corded lawn and garden belts are extremely popular due to their extreme strength, durability and the value they offer. Sometimes called Aramid or extra-heavy duty belts, Kevlar® is used in these belts as a tension member because of its inherent stability and high tensile strength. To prove Kevlar's durability, the material is used in bullet proof vests and small suspension bridges so you can guarantee that a Kevlar mower belt will keep an application running for longer and saves you money.
Lawn mower belts work using friction and a clutching action rather than being powered by gears, and over time standard polyester belts that have been used frequently are stretched and start to become loose. However, belts that are constructed from Kevlar® cord have a special dry cotton wrap which provides an even power transmission, reduced slippage whilst clutching, high resistance to repeated reverse flexing and high resistance to oil, heat and cracking.
Kevlar® constructed belts are specifically used on applications where high levels of power transmission are required, where there are restrictions on the drive width and/or the drive is critical. This includes tillers, ride on and commercial lawn mowers and chippers/shredders.
