The 1966 IH 434 tractor which was restored at this year’s Devon County Show by the Bicton college agricultural engineering students led by Chris Jaworski and using only Vapormatic replacement parts has been won by Paddy Donahue from Co Cavan, Ireland.
The winning ticket was pulled by Andrew Baughan of Baughan’s Recycling at the Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage show. Andrew had generously donated the tractor to BOAT to raise funds for the charity which was formed 20 years ago by Devon farmers to train trainers working in the developing world.
Chairman of BOAT Bill Vellacott said, “I am delighted that this year’s tractor has found a good home in Ireland because we have received tremendous support from the Emerald Isle over the past nine years of tractor restorations. I would particularly like to thank Vapormatic, Tractor and Machinery Magazine, Firestone and Bicton College for their fantastic sponsorship which together with our raffle ticket buyers have helped raise over £120K”. Second prize winner of £250 is Mr. John Edwards from Honiton, Devon and third prize of £100 goes to Mrs. E. Larke from Trunch, Norfolk.
